Philip B

Philip B is a hair-, scalp-, and body-care brand created by hairstylist Philip Berkovitz, with a focus on botanical-based formulas and treatment-oriented solutions for hair and scalp problems. Berkovitz began making formulas for clients in his kitchen in 1987 and officially launched the namesake brand in 1991 at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. Rejuvenating Oil, introduced in 1992, was the brand’s first commercial product and the starting point of its original four-step treatment; by 1996, Berkovitz was developing the line from a West Hollywood bungalow. The brand evolved from custom remedies for over-processed hair and troubled scalps into a broader range while retaining its botanical approach and emphasis on scalp health. In 2026, Philip B marked its 35th anniversary and identified Rejuvenating Oil, Peppermint Avocado Shampoo, Lightweight Deep Conditioner, and Detangling Toning Mist as its four original products.
