Photogenics + Co

Photogenics + Co originated as the fragrance and home-fragrance division of Photogenics Media, the Los Angeles fashion agency founded in spring 2002 by Nicole Bordeaux with Dean and Davis Factor. The brand emerged in the mid-2010s and was part of Photogenics Media’s expansion into lifestyle, fragrance, and home products by 2017. Bordeaux first created a scented candle as a Christmas gift for clients; after its success, she developed a six-item line and extended the same scents into perfumery and aromatic oils. An early international milestone came at Esxence in Milan, where the company presented lava-rock diffusers as a fragrance-delivery system. Photogenics + Co combines fine fragrance with home fragrance, pairing home scents inspired by air with personal fragrances rooted in skin, and uses a design language centered on sculptural, sustainable objects. Its scents draw on Bordeaux’s upbringing at theosophical camps on the California coast and in the Pacific Northwest, alongside spiritual rituals and the effects associated with medicinal and hallucinogenic plants. Its cannabis-inspired collection includes the gender-neutral No. 1 Hashish, No. 2 Indica, and No. 3 Sativa families, adapted across home and personal fragrance.
