Phronema Perfumes

Phronema Perfumes was initially conceived in 2020 as a fragrance project devoted to creating artworks that celebrate the ancient roots of olfactive imagination. It is the fragrance practice of St. Louis-based artist, author, and perfumer Weston Adam, whose work across literature, film, music, visual art, and scent informs the brand’s concept-driven approach. Phronema presents its fragrances as conceptual studies in limited and ongoing editions, with a materially driven method that resists trends and easy wearability; the perfumes are offered as objects for contemplation as well as adornment. By 2023, its creative references included philosophy, Eastern Orthodoxy, Japanese cinema, experimental music, and visual art, and individual fragrances were developed in response to specific ideas or works. In 2026, Adam’s wider fragrance practice introduced Logoi Perfumes as a separate experiment in olfactive reduction, while Phronema remained identified as the body of conceptual fragrance works.
