Phytomer

Founded in 1972 by Jean Gédouin in Saint-Malo, Brittany, Phytomer was created to bring the benefits of the sea to skincare. Its founding product was OLIGOMER®, a concentrated seawater ingredient developed through Gédouin’s work with seawater and marine resources. The family business built its identity around marine skincare for professional spas and institutes, combining marine ingredients, scientific research, and manual treatments. Antoine Gédouin joined in 1981, expanding the business internationally and developing advanced laboratory research. In 2010, the third generation—Mathilde Gédouin-Lagarde and Tristan Lagarde—entered the company, with work associated with marketing, product development, international development, and ecological and digital transition. In 2012, Phytomer created a laboratory specializing in marine biotechnology and launched the Pionnière XMF skincare line.
