Pierre Guillaume
Pierre Guillaume began making perfume in 2002, when, at 25, he created 02 Cozé while working as a chemist. The scent grew from an attempt to recreate the smell of his father’s cigar cellar and introduced a spicy-tobacco theme. Pierre Guillaume Paris identifies 2005 as the year the house was established. It is presented as an independent, family-owned composition house belonging to its creator-perfumer, with creative work centered in Auvergne, including Clermont-Ferrand. Its early public identity was associated with Parfumerie Generale; by 2011, Guillaume was described as working under both Parfumerie Generale and Huitième Art Parfums. A later reorganization introduced the Pierre Guillaume Paris numbered and Croisière collections, while the former Huitième Art collection became Le Noire. Guillaume is the house’s principal perfumer, describing its work as contemporary, eclectic, narrative and wearable. The Rhapsodie collection was presented as a space for rare, highly personal, purely creative compositions. 02 Cozé was quickly noticed by critics and professional buyers in the early 2000s.
