Pierre Guillaume Black Collection
Pierre Guillaume Black Collection is one of the themed collections of Pierre Guillaume Paris, an independent, family-owned fragrance house established in 2005 by perfumer Pierre Guillaume; its work is developed in Auvergne, France. Guillaume composed his first perfume, 02 Cozé, in 2002 while trying to recreate the smell of his father’s cigar cellar. The fragrance attracted critical attention and is identified as the origin of the brand. Launched in 2010, the Black Collection was originally called Huitième Art and was presented in 2018 as the Noire collection, the former Huitième Art line. Its identity is built around figurative “olfactory photographs,” innovative ingredients derived from biotechnology, and bottles with a black ceramic inner skin. The collection combines extracts with synthetics to reproduce the complexity of natural materials and avoids a conventional staged olfactory pyramid. The wider house has a contemporary, eclectic identity organized around themed collections, including a numbered collection inherited from Parfumerie Générale and the Black Collection.
