Pierre Guillaume Paris, Parfumerie Generale

Pierre Guillaume Paris, Parfumerie Générale is a contemporary French independent perfume house founded in 2005, growing from Parfumerie Générale, the former name of its numbered fragrance collection. Its creative origins reach back to 2002, when Pierre Guillaume created Cozé while trying to reproduce the smell of his father’s cigar cellar. Guillaume’s chemistry background, together with his family’s ties to the chemical industry, shaped the house’s identity and informed the name Parfumerie Générale. He is its defining perfumer and creative figure, developing fragrances in his Auvergne workshops in complete creative and financial independence. By 2018, the house had changed its packaging and completed a rebranding into the Pierre Guillaume Paris numbered collection, the Croisière collection, and the Le Noire collection, formerly Huitième Art. Its numbered fragrances are organized around recurring olfactory themes and an evolving, narrative style. Cozé 02, the first fragrance associated with the house’s origins, was quickly noticed by critics and described as embodying the brand’s DNA.
