Pigmentarium

Pigmentarium is an independent Czech perfume house founded in 2018 by Tomáš Ric. It debuted in Prague in autumn 2018 with Ad Libitum, which became the first building block and artistic model for its subsequent fragrances. The house’s creative language draws on Czech and international modernism, especially the work of architects and designers from the first half of the twentieth century, while combining Prague and Czech cultural references with contemporary artists, handcrafted packaging, and collaborations across visual and design disciplines. Its second fragrance, Erotikon, took inspiration from Gustav Machatý’s film of the same name and its treatment of contemporary taboos. The Ad Libitum launch campaign, photographed by Hana Knížová, received the 2018 Czech Grand Design Award for Photographer of the Year. In January 2023, Théo Belmas became the creator behind Pigmentarium fragrances and their creative development. David Ševčík is currently identified as one of the brand’s creative minds and co-owners.
