Piotr Czarnecki
Piotr Czarnecki is a Polish niche perfumery brand founded in 2014 by its namesake. Before establishing the brand, Czarnecki created personal fragrances for himself, friends, Polish dancers, and dance students, while running a dance school in Radom for about two decades. A self-taught independent artisan, he is the brand’s perfumer and creative originator. Dance is closely tied to its creative identity: Czarnecki made fragrances to accompany routines and lessons, and compared perfume composition and oil blending with finding proportions and coordinating steps. Sensei, created in 2013 and later renamed Shihan, was his first fragrance with a name and specially designed bottle. It was selected as a finalist in the Artisan category of the inaugural 2014 Art and Olfaction Awards, whose ceremony took place in Los Angeles on April 25, 2014. Sensei/Shihan is the brand’s clearest fragrance-legacy example, linking its first named and bottled scent with its early public milestone.
