Poécile
Created in 2021 by Léa Chonier, Poécile originated in Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle in Auvergne after she returned from Paris during the 2020 lockdown and rediscovered the scents of her childhood landscapes. Chonier conceived the brand as a series of olfactory journeys through French territories, translating individual landscapes into fragrances. The name refers to the scientific name of the titmouse, a bird she associated with movement through the air, like perfume. In 2021, she entrusted formula creation to Marie and Patrice at the independent Paris laboratory Maelstrom. Poécile’s first fragrance, Eden Volcanique, interprets Auvergne and draws inspiration from the region’s narcissus. The business operating under the Poécile name is CHONIER LEA, an active entrepreneur-individual enterprise led by Chonier. By 2022, the brand had begun international development; its history records travel-size formats in 2023, trade-show participation in France and abroad in 2024, and a candle collection in 2025.
