Beverly Hills Polo Club was established in 1982; its origin story traces an initial clothing idea and horse-and-rider logo to 1981, while a court record describes its creation by two California students. The brand’s identity combines Beverly Hills imagery, the traditional sport of polo, and a West Coast-oriented lifestyle, with the horse-and-rider mark remaining central to its identity. BHPC Marketing Inc. was established in 1983 to manage the trademark and develop products, and the business expanded from its initial clothing into women’s wear and a broader fashion offering. International licensing began in 1991. Ownership later became divided across territories: by 2021, Lifestyle Equities CV held the UK and EU marks, while BHPC Associates LLC held the corresponding US marks. In May 2025, the brand and Nirvana Investments launched BHPC Fragrance Co., an international fragrance joint venture that excludes the United States and its territories.
