Pond’s

Pond’s traces its origins to 1846, when American pharmacist Theron T. Pond developed a witch-hazel extract called Golden Treasure, later known as Pond’s Extract. By the early twentieth century, the brand had moved from patent medicine into facial care through Pond’s Vanishing Cream and Cold Cream. Pond’s and Chesebrough merged in 1955 to form Chesebrough-Pond’s. The brand introduced its tulip logo in the 1960s, and established the Pond’s Institute in the 1990s as part of its skincare research and diagnostics identity. Its public identity today is centered on skincare and face care, particularly cleansing and moisturising. For North America and Europe, Pond’s became part of Elida Beauty after Unilever added it to that business in 2022. Unilever completed the sale of Elida Beauty to Yellow Wood Partners on 1 June 2024, and on 20 January 2026 Elida Beauty merged with Suave Brands to create Evermark, whose portfolio includes Pond’s.
