Porsche
Porsche began in Stuttgart on April 25, 1931, when Ferdinand Porsche founded Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH as an engine- and vehicle-design consultancy. The Porsche 911, introduced in 1964 and designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche with his team, became a cornerstone of the brand. In the early 1970s, Porsche was reorganized as a public company and family members withdrew from operating management; in 1972, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche founded Porsche Design to extend Porsche principles and design beyond automobiles, with an identity combining function, technological innovation, and purist form. In 2003, Porsche AG and Porsche Design Management pooled their accessory, clothing, sports-equipment, and retail activities in Porsche Lifestyle GmbH & Co. KG. On August 1, 2012, Porsche’s operating business became part of the Volkswagen Group through the integration of Porsche AG into the group structure. Porsche Design’s fragrance history began in 2008 with The Essence, followed by Porsche Design 180 in 2018, whose concept was developed by perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu as an interpretation of the connection between design, function, technology, heritage, and modern lifestyle.
