Fragrance house
Portofino
Portofino is an Italian fragrance house established in 1999 by Francesca Casiraghi. Its identity draws on Portofino and the Italian Riviera, with local light, landscape, Mediterranean spirit, history, and nature serving as creative references. The house frames its development through a dialogue between tradition and innovation: Blue Heritage is rooted in classic perfumery, while The Colour Stories offers a freer reinterpretation. Its debut fragrance, Acqua di Portofino, dates to 2000 in its earliest recorded edition. The fragrance identity is especially associated with Mediterranean and marine place imagery; Sail is described as salty and marine, while Borgo is linked to pittosporum. In a 2024 presentation, the brand outlined a renewed project developed with perfumers to connect its earlier history with contemporary craftsmanship. Profumitalia held the collection’s license in 2015 and is listed as the parent company.
