Poseidon

Poseidon is the men’s fragrance line of Instituto Español, an Andalusian company founded in 1903 that began by making perfumery and cosmetics. Over time, the business broadened from makeup and perfumery into personal care, adding products such as deodorants and bath gels, while its identity combines longstanding European perfumery tradition with adaptation to newer market trends. Its ownership history includes the Granados family’s taking control after Instituto Español was expropriated from Grupo Rumasa, which had owned it for five years; today, the company is presented as led by the third generation of the founding family. Within that wider business, Poseidon comprises masculine fragrances spanning fresh, woody, amber-woody, and aromatic-spicy directions. Poseidon Blue has a fresh-led profile of citrus, geranium, spices, and woods, while Poseidon Kaos is described as amber-woody.
