Pozzo di Borgo

Pozzo di Borgo was created in 2010 by Valentine Pozzo di Borgo and her mother, Sandrine Givaudan-Pozzo di Borgo, from an idea that joined perfume with history. The brand made its public fragrance debut at Esxence in 2013 with 8 Mars 1764 and 23 Janvier 1984. Its creative identity centers on olfactory portraits of family members: each fragrance is named for the birth date of its muse, connecting a person with a historical period. The brand draws on the family’s Corsican heritage and Parisian context. Perfume also runs through the maternal line: Valentine’s great-great-grandfather Xavier Givaudan co-founded Givaudan, while her mother worked in perfumery. 8 Mars 1764 pays tribute to Carl Andrea Pozzo di Borgo, a Corsican diplomat associated with Napoleon’s political history, and was composed by Philippe Bousseton; 23 Janvier 1984 is Valentine’s olfactory self-portrait, developed with Violaine Collas. Pierre Dinand designed the fluted bottle, whose form connects the family’s Corsican castle with the Tuileries Palace.
