Première Peau

Première Peau began in Paris in 2022, initially working with fragrance materials, formulas, glass, and collaboration with perfumers, before its public launch in June 2025. Founded by Pierre Mergui, whose earlier work included product and image development alongside creative projects in graphic design and interior architecture, the independently owned house presents itself as French haute perfumery built around distinct signatures from individual perfumers rather than trend-led briefs. Its debut collection emerged from three years of creative exchange between Mergui and perfumers working with MANE, DSM-Firmenich, and Takasago, and was presented at Pitti Fragranze in Florence in 2025. Nuit Élastique, created by Ugo Charron with Mergui as creative director, won the Independent category at the 2026 Art and Olfaction Awards.
