Profumi di Pantelleria
Profumi di Pantelleria was conceived on 31 December 1997 by a group of people who regularly vacationed on Pantelleria and wanted to preserve the island’s atmosphere through fragrance. The founding group included journalist Italo Cucci, patron Gabriella Gentili-Mian, director Silvio Levi, coordinator Fernando Vignali, and perfumer Maurizio Cerizza. Its creative identity translates Pantelleria, the Mediterranean island known as the “black pearl,” into scents drawing on its colors, flavors, atmosphere, herbs, flowers, spices, and history as a crossroads of cultures. The first fragrance, Profumo di Pantelleria, appeared in 1998 and is described as the house’s signature scent. By 2007, the range included Nica, Jailia, Maestrale, Dammuso, Aire, and Tanit, launched on 1 September that year. In 2018, the brand was relaunched with new packaging and a reconfigured fragrance selection that retained Profumo di Pantelleria while adding or emphasizing Passum, Tanit, Joyann, and Günther. Its public identity remains centered on expressing the island through each fragrance’s accords.
