Pure Sense

Pure Sense was founded in 2020 by Ekaterina Zinchenko after her training with the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. Conceived as an inclusive social-enterprise fragrance project, it gives blind perfumers a role in creating perfume compositions and uses fragrance to explore self-awareness and emotional experience. Its concept of “aromas-states” treats perfume as a way to express or influence feelings including calm, inspiration, and freedom. In July 2020, the brand launched Inspiration, Freedom, and Serenity. Its initial creative team included Maria Ushakova, Anastasia Vislobokova, and Alexander Yashin, who joined through an open recruitment and selection process. Pure Sense presented the project at Pitti Fragranze 19, describing its aim as training blind people in perfumery so they could express their perception of the world through fragrance. Inspiration, created by Vislobokova, received the strongest evaluation among the brand’s scents at the event.
