Pureology
Pureology was created in California in 2001 by American hairdresser Jim Markham to develop professional haircare for color-treated hair, serving hairdressers and colorists. Its product identity centers on ZeroSulfate formulas, vegan ingredients, concentrated formulas, and protection for color-treated hair. The brand’s technical signature includes highly concentrated sulfate-free shampoos and the AntiFade Complex. L’Oréal announced the acquisition of PureOlogy Research LLC on May 9, 2007, completing the transaction through L’Oréal USA and placing Pureology in its Professional Products Division. In 2020, Pureology introduced a renovated lineup with a new look and selected formula changes, organized around color care, sustainability, vegan formulas, concentrated products, and experiential fragrances.
