Fragrance house

Rabanne

Rabanne was founded by Paco Rabanne in 1966, when the maison presented its first Spring-Summer collection. Its early identity was shaped by experimental, space-age fashion made with unconventional materials such as metal and plastic. Puig created the brand’s perfume division in France in 1968 and acquired the entire Paco Rabanne business in 1987. Fragrance became an important part of the house’s history: Calandre, released in 1969, was its first scent, followed by Paco Rabanne Pour Homme in 1973 and 1 Million in 2008, which was recorded as a commercial success. After the retail business was shuttered in 2006, the fashion line revived in 2011 while fragrances continued operating. Julien Dossena became artistic director in 2013, and his work modernized the house’s chainmail. In 2023, the brand adopted the name Rabanne, introduced a new visual identity, and launched its first makeup line. In 2026, Olivier Rousteing was appointed creative director, with his first Rabanne show scheduled for March 2027.
