Raconteur
Founded in 2019 by Craig Andrade, Raconteur is an Australian perfumery based in Sydney and Hobart. Andrade moved into fragrance after a 25-year career in private equity and capital-markets law, training at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery and studying natural perfumery with Mandy Aftel. His creative direction centres on Australian storytelling through scent: the fragrances draw on Australian people, places, history, culture and landscapes, with native botanicals serving as a recurring material and narrative focus. Raconteur presents its perfumes as gender-neutral and also creates home fragrances, bespoke scents and olfactory identities for hospitality, cultural and lifestyle clients. In June 2025, it launched its first entirely Australian gourmand collection in New York, using food-oriented fragrance to explore Australian places, foods, encounters and personal stories. The six-scent collection included Daintree Rain Tea and Lord Lamington; Daintree Rain Tea was named Robb Report’s number-one fragrance for men of 2025.
