Fragrance house
Rampage
Rampage was founded in 1982 by Larry Hansel, who moved from Brooklyn to the West Coast to create the brand. By 1994, Rampage Clothing Co. was a Los Angeles-based, multidivisional apparel company led by Hansel, with a public identity centered on youthful, independent-minded women and self-expression. In June 1997, Rampage and Rampage Retailing filed for Chapter 11 protection after rapid retail expansion created liquidity problems; the reorganization was intended to refocus the business on core operations. In September 2005, Iconix acquired the Rampage brand from Rampage Licensing, LLC, transferring its trademark and related intellectual-property assets into Iconix’s portfolio. Iconix International currently lists Rampage among the consumer brands it owns, licenses, and markets. Its recorded fragrance activity began in 2003 with Rampage for Women.
