Rasasi was founded in Dubai in 1979 by Haji Abdul Razzak Kalsekar, who opened a small perfume shop in Murshid Bazar. The business was developed by Kalsekar’s six sons, who joined their father and helped transform the original Deira shop into an international fragrance enterprise. Rasasi is a family-owned business whose olfactory identity combines Arabian and Gulf perfumery traditions with contemporary and Western fragrance styles. In 1992, it launched its Western perfume range with Blue Lady, its first Western label. By 2006, Blue Lady was Rasasi’s most successful fragrance to that point. By 2023, Rasasi had grown from a small family business into a regional and international fragrance business while retaining its Middle Eastern roots.
