Realities Cosmetics

Realities Cosmetics was established by Liz Claiborne in connection with the launch of a new fragrance line, with the distinct house dated to 2004. That year’s Realities was a new version sharing only its name with an earlier fragrance associated with Liz Claiborne. The brand formed part of Liz Claiborne Inc.’s fragrance portfolio alongside Liz, Bora Bora, Mambo, and other company-owned fragrance brands. On May 28, 2008, Liz Claiborne Inc. entered an exclusive long-term global licensing agreement with Elizabeth Arden covering the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of its fragrance brands, including Realities; the agreement took effect on June 10. Revlon completed its acquisition of Elizabeth Arden on September 7, 2016, making Elizabeth Arden a wholly owned subsidiary of Revlon Consumer Products Corporation. Realities is identified as the brand’s signature fragrance, while an earlier Realities won the Fragrance Foundation’s 1991 Fragrance of the Year—Women’s Popular award. The documented fragrance identity centers on floral women’s fragrances.
