Regency Cosmetics is presented with Knight Distributing Co., Inc., which states that it was established in 1967. The family-owned and operated company is based in Salisbury, North Carolina, and currently identifies Regency Cosmetics as the manufacturer of Jade East and several corrective-cosmetics and personal-care brands. Regency’s fragrance history is closely tied to Jade East, launched by Swank in 1964, later produced by Songo, and now produced by Regency Cosmetics. The fragrance achieved extraordinary success in the United States, with its popularity linked to demand for affordable colognes, broad advertising, and its classic fougère style. Regency’s documented fragrance catalogue also includes Jade East Gold, Tawanna, Bal de Bain, Sassique, L’Affaire, and Sultre.
