Revillon
Revillon traces its public historical lineage to a Paris fur business established in 1723; Louis-Victor Revillon acquired the predecessor Maison Givelet in 1839. The French fur and luxury-goods house, headquartered in Paris, extended its work into complete fashion garments and other luxury goods, with branches including London and New York by the late nineteenth century. In 1922, Revillon financed Robert Flaherty’s Nanook of the North near one of its Canadian trading posts. Cora acquired the house in 1982 and sold it to Swiss company Fibalko SA in June 1999. Fibalko appointed Rick Owens creative director in 2003, and his work brought Revillon back to contemporary couture and runway attention. Yves Salomon acquired Revillon’s fur and ready-to-wear rights in 2006; Peter Dundas and Andrew Heather were appointed creative directors in 2008 and 2011. The last verified Revillon fashion collection is Spring–Summer 2013, and the house was described as dormant in 2016. Yves Salomon SAS continued to hold fashion-related Revillon trademark rights at the 2026 cutoff. Revillon entered perfumery in the 1930s, with its first perfume line recorded in 1934; Detchema, a floral fragrance, launched in 1953.
