Revlon Professional

Established in 1979, Revlon Professional began when Revlon acquired Henry Colomer and launched the brand with Sensor Perm. Its professional identity is centered on hair color, hair care, hair treatments, and products intended primarily for salons and professional channels. Its history includes significant ownership changes: Revlon was sold to MacAndrews & Forbes in 1985, and Revlon sold its Professional Products division in 2000 to Beauty Care Professional Products Luxembourg, S.a.r.l. On October 9, 2013, Revlon completed its acquisition of The Colomer Group, bringing Revlon Professional back into Revlon’s professional-products business and reuniting Revlon with the trade name, previously licensed to Colomer under long-term exclusive license agreements. In 2023, Revlon’s reorganization made the parent company privately held, with most of its equity to be owned by former lenders. Revlon Professional’s identity also encompasses helping professionals and women create through hair styling and color, within Revlon’s broader association with bold self-expression, innovation, hair care, and beauty.
