Fragrance house
Riddle
Riddle was created by Chelsea Voge, who left the music industry in 2013 intending to open an apothecary before developing an original perfume oil and turning toward fragrance. The brand began in Voge’s Venice, California apartment, where she made batches of the oil and sold them by word of mouth to friends and friends of friends. Riddle’s creative identity is built around subtle, intimate, skin-close fragrance oils that interact with the wearer’s personal chemistry rather than resemble conventional, overpowering perfume. Voge remains central to the brand’s creative history as its founder and the creator of Original, its first scent. From that single oil, Riddle developed a line of seven signature scents alongside roll-ons, lotions, body oils, and candles. Original is the brand’s signature and best-selling fragrance, representing its pheromone-inspired style of base-note-only skin scents focused on warm amber and musk.
