Roberto Cavalli

Founded in Florence in 1970 by designer Roberto Cavalli, Roberto Cavalli is an Italian fashion and luxury-lifestyle brand. That year, Cavalli made his Paris debut with a collection featuring leather patchwork and its innovative application to jeans; in 1972, he presented the women’s collection at Florence’s Sala Bianca in Palazzo Pitti. The house’s visual language centers on material experimentation, decorated and stretch denim, pleated silk, and vibrant animal prints, a distinctive hallmark of the Maison. Its denim innovations included printed jeans in 1988, sandblasted jeans in 1994, and stretch jeans in 1995. Cavalli stepped down from the maison’s leadership in 2015 and died in 2024 at the age of 83. In 2019, Hussain Sajwani acquired Roberto Cavalli S.p.A. through Vision Investments, part of the DICO Group. On May 20, 2026, Marquee Brands announced an agreement to acquire a majority interest through a strategic partnership with DAMAC Group, with DAMAC remaining a significant shareholder. Fragrances debuted in 2002, and Roberto Cavalli Serpentine is presented as a signature scent built around creamy vanilla, lush florals, and warm woods. Inter Parfums announced an exclusive worldwide Roberto Cavalli fragrance license in July 2023.
