Rodin

Rodin olio lusso was established in 2007 by Linda Rodin, who developed it in her New York City apartment by mixing essential oils. Her experience as a model and fashion stylist informed the brand’s creative identity, built around simplicity and an Italian-influenced aesthetic. In October 2014, Estée Lauder acquired the brand from Rodin. Its central product was Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil, which Rodin developed over two years by combining 11 essential oils; it won an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2012, and the wider line grew around it. By 2015, the range included body and hair care, soap, lip products, and fragrance. Bis was identified as Rodin’s signature fragrance: Rodin created it as an ode to her mother, while perfumer David Seth developed the scent from her recollection of her mother’s characteristic smell. Estée Lauder recorded the brand as discontinued in March 2021, and its e-commerce operation was scheduled to close on April 19, 2021.
