Rogue Perfumery

Rogue Perfumery’s story began with Manuel Cross’s path toward perfumery, sparked in 2005 after one of his favorite colognes was discontinued. A former professional chef, Cross gradually transitioned to perfumery from 2007; after about nine years of study and experimentation, he created the prototype for Tabac Vert while developing Chypre-Siam concurrently. Rogue Perfumery launched quietly on Etsy in 2017, and Cross left his regular job in early 2019 after retailer interest followed. As founder, nose, and creative director, Cross developed a house that combines modern compositions with vintage effects, drawing on chypres, fougères, tobacco-centered fragrances, nostalgia, and classical perfumery. Chypre-Siam interprets a traditional chypre through Southeast Asian materials, while Mousse Illuminée became one of the brand’s top sellers with its strong mossy, nostalgic direction. Rogue Reserve later introduced a natural-perfumery tier, with Mousse Illuminée Grand Cru as its inaugural release and an all-natural reinterpretation of Mousse Illuminée.
