Rook Perfumes
Rook Perfumes was launched in early 2018 by Nadeem Crowe, following a formative visit to a Lausanne perfumery and his experiments with essential oils and aroma chemicals. Crowe brings together experience in emergency medicine, West End performance, and perfumery, a combination the brand presents as a creative framework. Its fragrances focus on emotive, memory-triggering scents inspired by nature and a distinct perfumer’s point of view, while also drawing on Crowe’s Jordanian, British-Jordanian, and Palestinian family heritage. Rook launched with eight scents, but changing IFRA guidelines required most to be reformulated; Crowe chose to relaunch them gradually after approving the revisions. In 2020, the brand introduced The Dark Collection, a trio of eastern scents that developed its darker creative direction. Forest, conceived as a continuous realistic journey through a forest, was identified that year as Rook’s top seller. Rook by Rook began as a personal composition for Crowe before being released after repeated requests.
