Roxy

Roxy began in 1990 as a Quiksilver project focused on technical women’s swimwear for surfing, with women’s boardshorts following. Quiksilver launched the brand in America in 1991, and by 1992 its range had expanded into sportswear, denim, and snowwear. Its early identity combined women-specific design with technical performance in board sports, while its signature women’s boardshort helped establish the women’s surfwear market. In 1993, Roxy introduced its heart-shaped logo, formed by mirroring two Quiksilver mountain-and-wave marks. Surfer Lisa Andersen helped prompt the boardshort’s creation and joined as the first member of the Roxy team in 1994. Roxy entered fragrance in 2007 with Roxy, described as its signature fragrance, followed by Roxy Love in 2008. In 2023, Authentic Brands Group acquired Boardriders, including Roxy; the deal closed on September 1, and Roxy’s intellectual-property entity, Boardriders IP Holdings, LLC, is part of the Authentic Brands Group family.
