Rumba

Rumba is a fragrance associated first with Balenciaga and later with Ted Lapidus, rather than an independently documented fragrance house. Balenciaga launched the original Rumba in 1988, composed by Jean-Claude Ellena. In 2009, Ted Lapidus bought the Rumba formula and relaunched it under its catalog; Rumba Passion extended the line in 2011, followed by Rumba Fever in 2022 as a new interpretation. Ted Lapidus was founded in 1951 and entered fragrance through a partnership with L'Oréal in 1970. The house became the property of Groupe Bogart in 1995, while the group separately records its acquisition of Ted Lapidus SA in 1998.
