Sammarco

Sammarco was founded in Switzerland in 2013 by Giovanni Sammarco, an Italian-born perfumer who moved there to develop the brand. It followed his earlier Fragrance Scout project, which he reorganized under his own name with new packaging and a new visual identity. Having studied law, Sammarco learned perfumery largely through independent study, reading about the craft and its raw materials and visiting specialist exhibitions. The brand’s creative identity joins research into beauty and the use of high-quality raw materials with innovation, tradition, and personal vision. Its perfumes reflect an artisanal approach in which the perfumer works directly with raw materials and controls each stage of creation. Luca Turin’s praise brought hundreds of visits to the brand’s website and further attention from other blogs. Vitrum, Sammarco’s first perfume, was identified in 2016 as the brand’s best-known fragrance at that time; the catalogue is documented through Thaumas in 2024.
