sanoflore

Created in 1972 by botanist and aromatherapist Rodolphe Balz in the Vercors, Sanoflore grew alongside the botanical gardens he established there. Its research laboratory opened in 1986 to develop certified-organic skincare combining botanical research, efficacy, and sensoriality. The brand’s origins are tied to Gigors-et-Lozeron, while its identity connects certified-organic skincare and botanical active ingredients with testing on sensitive skin and a relationship with nature and biodiversity. In 2002, Balz helped create Cosmébio, France’s first organic-cosmetics certification label. L’Oréal acquired Sanoflore in October 2006. In 2013, Sanoflore launched Magnifica, its first certified-organic anti-imperfection range, built around a patented complex of nine essential oils. In September 2023, L’Oréal sold the brand to Ekkio Capital.
