Sans Soucis

Sans Soucis traces its origins to 1939, when Walter Friedmann developed its first decorative cosmetics in a private laboratory and opened a beauty salon near Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. After returning to Baden-Baden, he founded the company there around 1950, and skincare products followed. The brand’s public identity is tied to Baden-Baden, where it develops and produces its cosmetics and uses the city’s thermal spring water. Sans Soucis introduced a fixed skincare series organized by skin condition in 1967, stated that it was the first manufacturer to use soluble collagen in 1970, developed Repair Complex with researchers in 1980, and launched the patented Deep Moist Depot two-phase moisturizing concentrate in 1986. After the BCG Baden-Baden Cosmetics Group’s insolvency in 2010, private investors acquired the company; in May 2015, DYA Holding GmbH acquired all BCG shares. For its 80th anniversary in 2019, Sans Soucis restored the fountain to its logo and modernized its assortment. In March 2026, BCG entered preliminary self-administration insolvency proceedings, with operations continuing during a stated restructuring effort.
