Santaverde

Santaverde’s origins date to 1985, when Sabine Beer and her husband, Kurt, bought a finca near Estepona in Andalusia, Spain. After using fresh aloe vera on her own skin and finding no comparable aloe-based cosmetics, Beer developed the brand’s concept; Santaverde’s first natural-cosmetics products went on sale in 1997. The brand uses freshly harvested, pure aloe vera juice instead of water as its main formulation ingredient, complemented by plant oils and extracts, and centers its identity on aloe vera from its own certified-organic cultivation in Andalusia and on certified natural cosmetics. In 2007, Santaverde added cashew fruit as a cosmetic plant ingredient and developed the Xingu line around plants from the Brazilian rainforest. Since 2004, the design agency Naroska has shaped its visual identity and brand-development work, including the word mark, packaging, shops, and communication materials.
