Saskia Diez
Saskia Diez is a Munich-based jewellery label founded in 2007 by trained goldsmith and industrial designer Saskia Diez. Its beginnings trace to Diez’s design work: a 2005 Volvo competition produced weight-bearing bracelets, prototypes appeared at the 2006 Cologne furniture fair, and an order from a New York customer led to Diamonds, the first series-produced collection. Jewellery remains the brand’s core, alongside bags, sunglasses, home objects, and collaborations. Its design language is purist and does not use gender-based shopping categories; Diez has described the jewellery as intimate objects that can influence posture and offer feelings of protection and self-confidence. By 2010, the label was sold through designer stores in Berlin, Paris, London, New York, and Tokyo. In fragrance, Gold and Silver, released in 2013, form its documented pair: created with perfumer Geza Schön, they translate gold and silver, materials closely tied to the jewellery work, into invisible jewellery, with Gold fruity-floral and Silver fresh-floral.
