Savonnerie de Pierrefonds

Founded in Pierrefonds in 2020 by Marie Liégeois-Lorthé, Savonnerie de Pierrefonds began with her personal soapmaking practice and developed into an artisan brand rooted in the village’s local identity. Before earning her master soapmaker diploma and creating the business, Liégeois-Lorthé worked in communications for an environmental association and made soaps for herself and relatives. The venture was intended to help revitalize Pierrefonds and contribute to its economic life by offering visitors a locally rooted souvenir near the château. Its work centers on handmade, cold-process soaps made with natural, mostly organic raw materials, with local or fair-trade sourcing where local supply is unavailable and zero-waste packaging commitments. The business also produces handmade cosmetics, fragrances, and home scents. Its perfumed waters use organic wheat alcohol and entirely natural fragrances selected in collaboration with an artisan perfumer from southern France. Its historical design language includes a medieval-garden soap presented as a homage to Hildegarde de Bingen.
