Scent on Canvas
Scent on Canvas was established by Béatrice Aguilar in 2011, after her training and work with Puig, Dragoco/Symrise and Eurofragance. The company was incorporated in Spain in November that year, with operations listed as beginning on 1 July 2012. Aguilar conceived the brand as an author-perfumery project that brings perfume into dialogue with painting. Its core format pairs perfumers with visual artists: fragrances inspire paintings, pigment colors inform fragrance names, and signed, numbered engravings of the paintings are reproduced in the boxes. The first collection comprised five perfumes connected to five etchings by different painters—Rose Opéra, Ocre Doré, Brun Sicilien, Blanc de Paris and Noir de Mars. Aguilar was the originating creative figure and perfumer for part of the work, alongside collaborators including Alexandra Kosinski, Jordi Fernández and Shyamala Maisondieu.
