Scents of Wood
Scents of Wood was launched in 2020 by Fabrice Croisé, with its United States and Canadian launch dated to September of that year. Its creative identity centers on forests, trees and wood; the French name L’Âme du Bois translates as “Soul of Wood,” while ShinrinYoku refers to forest bathing. Croisé guides the brand’s design, storytelling, visual identity and olfactory direction in collaboration with perfumers, including a barrel-aging technique that matures organic alcohol in wooden barrels before it enters fragrance compositions. The brand began as a direct-to-consumer subscription business and extended that digital model into Web3 in 2022 through a fragrance NFT subscription whose participants were intended to vote on future perfumers, ingredients and other aspects of development. The Scents of Wood Company, a Delaware corporation, fulfills orders and is listed as the brand’s current trademark owner. A notable fragrance example is Plum in Cognac, created by Pascal Gaurin and awarded the Fragrance Foundation’s 2021 Perfume Extraordinaire of the Year.
