Scottish Fine Soaps
Founded in Scotland in 1974 by Derek Ross, Scottish Fine Soaps is a family-owned business spanning four generations. Its wider ownership context is Alexander Ross Holdings, a family-owned group founded in 1987 whose business lineage reaches back to Robert Ross’s chemical-manufacturing business in 1923. The brand’s identity is shaped by contemporary Scottish style, ingredients sourced from Scotland and elsewhere, and bath and beauty collections developed around distinctive fragrances and beauty benefits. In its 50th year, it refreshed classic ranges including Sea Kelp and the Scottish-inspired Thistle & Black Pepper men’s grooming collection, alongside the introduction of Oakmoss and Wild Heather. Au Lait is identified as an iconic collection, and its soap bars have been described as a bestseller. During the 50th-year refresh, its formulation changed from organic cow’s milk to Scottish oat and chamomile milks while retaining its established scent. In February 2026, Scottish Fine Soaps introduced a Fine Fragrance Collection of body and hand washes inspired by fine fragrance.
