Sebastian Signs
Founded in Los Angeles in 2003 by Sherri Sebastian, Sebastian Signs followed her professional perfumery career, which included work for major cosmetics companies and designers. Sebastian has formulated fragrances professionally since 1996 and apprenticed with master perfumers in New York; she is the brand’s founder and perfumer. Its creative identity brings together fragrance composition, design, and craftsmanship, with work spanning botanically based perfumes and compositions in classic and modern styles. In 2012, the brand debuted its Purusa Naturals line at the Los Angeles Artisan Fragrance Salon, presenting Root, Petalum, Seed, and Leaf in an argan-oil-based gel format and naming them for plant parts associated with their ingredients. Purusa Root was an official nominee for The Fragrance Foundation’s 2013 Indie FiFi Award. Sebastian Signs now appears online through Provision Scents as its heritage brand. Its Numbers Collection is identified as the heritage brand’s collection and is described as having a loyal following, while No. 17 is presented as a Sebastian Signs heritage-brand fragrance.
