Segreti di Lucca
Segreti di Lucca is a perfume line founded in 2004 by Simonetta Giurlani Pardini and dedicated to Lucca in Tuscany. Its concept joins perfume with the city’s gardens, churches, and palazzos, drawing on Florentine perfume tradition; Pardini’s interest in historical biographies and perfume shaped the line’s creative direction. The first fragrance, Elisa, was launched in 2004 and dedicated to Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte, Princess of Lucca and Napoleon Bonaparte’s sister, linking the perfume identity to the city’s Napoleonic history. Pardini is credited as the perfumer behind the brand’s fragrances, including Elisa. In 2010, the line renewed its name as “SdL,” updated its packaging, and launched Luludi and Carib. The available fragrance record identifies five perfumes, with releases documented from 2004 through 2011. In 2017, Pardini conceived an olfactory-history installation in Lucca focused on Elisa Baciocchi and Maria Luisa of Bourbon, extending the brand’s association between scent, place, and historical women.
