Senyokô
Established in Paris in 2016 by Joseph and Eglantine Berthion, Senyokô is an independent fragrance brand whose concept joins French elegance with Japanese refinement. Its cultural references span literature, fine arts, and music from Eastern and Western traditions. The brand’s current manifesto frames its fragrances as atmospheric narratives situated between literature, memory, ritual, and hallucination, while exploring tensions between East and West, restraint and excess, and intimacy and violence. In its early fragrance program, perfumer Euan McCall was credited with Migration de L’Arbre and Madama Butterfly II. Migration de L’Arbre was a finalist in the Independent category of the 2019 Art and Olfaction Awards, with Joseph and Emilie Berthion credited for creative direction. In 2023, Senyokô identified Hora de la Verdad Sombra as a finalist in the Art & Olfaction Awards.
