Shama Perfumes

Shama Perfumes was founded in Bombay, now Mumbai, in 1977 by Umar J. Shama, initially serving Arab travelers seeking Dehn Al Oud, attars, and artisanal blends. It is a three-generation family business rooted in Indian craftsmanship and Arabian fragrance culture; Salim Shama led the second generation, and Salman Shama guides the third. Its creative identity pairs the preservation of Indian perfumery traditions with contemporary reinterpretation, emphasizing oudh, attars, and fragrance as an emotional and cultural experience. In 2020–2021, Shama modernized its logo and identity while retaining its underlying values. In fragrance, the house is identified most strongly with oudh and attar-based perfumery.
