Skeyndor
Skeyndor was founded in 1966 in Terrassa, Barcelona, by professors Juan Morcillo and Publio Puente, initially to develop cosmetic products and depilatory waxes. Originally named Skindor, the firm adopted the name Skeyndor after discovering that the earlier name was already registered. Its public identity combines scientific research, innovation and professional skincare under the concept “Science Creates Beauty,” with collaboration from beauty professionals. Skeyndor launched liposome technology in 1988 and opened training centres in Barcelona and Madrid in 1996 and 1997. In 2001, an anticellulite formulation won a Kanebo competition; the resulting product was reported to sell approximately 300,000 units, and Skeyndor received the Chamber of Commerce Export Excellence Award in 2003. The Corrective line launched in 2010, received an Asia-SPA award in 2012 and was relaunched in 2020. Skeyndor marked its 50th anniversary in 2016 with CDTI recognition for research into protection against high-energy visible light, and launched MEGAN by Skeyndor in 2023 alongside further CDTI recognition for the technology. A 2017 trade interview described Skeyndor as a family business, while its official legal information identifies Skeyndor S.L.U. as the operating entity.
