Soap and Glory
Soap & Glory was founded in 2006 by beauty entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore and launched in the United Kingdom. Kilgore shaped its identity by blending the British high-street beauty context with the style of tabloids and more affordable cosmetics, expressed through a distinctive tone of voice, playful packaging and product names, and effective formulations. Beginning with bath and body, the brand expanded into skincare, cosmetics, haircare and gifts. Alliance Boots first became a minority shareholder in 2011 and completed its acquisition in November 2014; the brand then operated as a standalone brand within the group’s Global Brands division, while Kilgore was no longer associated with the company. In 2019, Soap & Glory introduced The Better Bathtime Initiative, a charitable programme supporting hygiene and beauty access through local partnerships. On 28 August 2025, The Boots Group became a private standalone company after its acquisition by Sycamore Partners in partnership with Stefano Pessina and his family; its No7 Beauty Company portfolio includes Soap & Glory. The brand is especially associated with Original Pink, a signature collection built around bergamot, mandarin and jasmine and identified as the signature fragrance of The Righteous Butter body butter.
